Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Define the need for a streetscape management plan
   • Identify the management plan objectives for the streetscape
   • Consult with client and identify brief requirements
   • Identify a planning team including specialists and consultants
2. Undertake preliminary planning activities
   • Identify major stakeholders
   • Determine the availability of specialists to assist in management planning work and prepare contracts where required
   • Establish timelines for development of the management plan and reporting arrangements to client
   • Identify required resources for developing management strategies
3. Prepare a site description
   • Identify and map landscape values of the area
   • Identify and map physical features and characteristics of the streetscape
   • Research land , including current, cultural and historical modifications, and determine and record their effects on the streetscape
   • Assess and document physical condition of site
   • Document the biological characteristics of the site
4. Analyse site information and description
   • Evaluate information in terms of core principles and objectives
   • Produce documents, including plans, technical reports and maps
   • Determine priorities and key management issues
   • Identify and document opportunities and constraints to meeting planning objectives and goals
   • Make a presentation to clients and residents and incorporate feedback into planning documentation
5. Identify management strategies
   • Identify management strategies that address defined objectives
   • Design management strategies to alleviate existing impacts or to target management action
   • Cost management strategies and compare to existing budgets and available resources
   • Plan implementation of work to prioritise outcomes and management resource allocation
   • Consult with clients and residents and incorporate feedback into documentation
6. Prepare the management plan
   • Develop a draft management plan that includes site information and management strategies
   • Consult with stakeholders and clients and incorporate agreed changes into the final plan
   • Present final plan to client
7. Implement the management plan
   • Implement the management plan within predetermined budget, and according to the schedule and strategies set out in the plan
   • Modify the implementation strategy to address on-going feedback from clients and residents
   • Provide reports to clients and residents on the progress of implementation works
